This selection of Ajuga noted for the shiny deep purple (considered almost black) foliage and notable dark purple flowers held above the foliage in Spring. Leaves are recognizably scalloped. This fast growing plant forms an attractive groundcover. Foliage color stronger with increased sun exposure. Prefers moist well-drained locations but will tolerate dry soil once established.
