Coreopsis 'Solanna™ Golden Sphere'

Tickseed

Plant Type: Perennial

This Coreopsis has a unique flower shape that makes it stands out from the rest; instead of the traditional daisy-like blooms, it has fluffly golden pom-pom shaped flowers with ruffled edges that give it a charming appearance. The flowers bloom from early summer and into the fall. They have sturdy upright stems that make them good for use as cut flowers as well. It requires full sun and dry to medium moisture soils in order to look its best. It is also tolerant of drought and high humidity which allows it to look fresh even when the temperatures begin to ramp up. It works very well in sunny beds and borders, planted in groupings and drifts, in meadow/prairie-style plantings, cottage gardens, and cut flower gardens. It could also be a fun "thriller" to add in to summer themed containers.
