Annual
This Salvia boasts beautiful dark blue tubular flowers on tall black spires above its green foliage. It blooms early, beginning in spring, and with a little regular deadheading will continue to bloom all through the summer and into fall. It also a fast grower and while it requires deeper waterings in the beginning to develop its roots, once established watering can be reduced. Its flowers attract pollinators, butterflies and hummingbirds while its fragrant foliage deters rabbits. It looks stunning as a taller element in beds and borders, mass plantings, pollinator gardens, and can even be used as a "filler/thriller" in containers.
