Aster azureus is a fall-blooming perennial that produces 1" blue daisy-like flowers that are a great late source of nectar for butterflies and other pollinators. It forms clumps of heart-shaped leaves that hold the flowers up above on tall stems; making them great for use as cut flowers. It can tolerate drier and rocky soils once established, and while it does well in full sun, it will also still produce its flowers in partial shade. It is very easy to grow and is great for use in perennial beds and borders, woodland edges, meadow/prairie-style plantings, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens.
