Shrub

Skimmia japonica 'Female'

Plant Type: Shrub

An engaging little broadleaf evergreen shrub thriving in shady locations and displaying fragrant 2" white flowers in mid-spring. Leaves are dark green and leathery adding an interesting texture through the summer. Female plants bear small plump red fruits in fall and through winter which looks quite attractive against the green leathery foliage. Male plants are needed as pollinators in order for female plants to bear fruit. Winter protection needed in colder climates.
