A large shade-loving bronzy-leaved perennial with soft spire-like flowers in late summer. Although flowers are compact, about 1.5", they are plentiful and are strongly fragrant. Prefers moist humusy soil. Attracts bees and butterflies. Foliage is attractive all season and the late season flowers light up the woodland garden.
