Native
A garden-worthy native herbaceous groundcover with lustrous heart-shaped green foliage that gradually forms an attractive dense cover in the moist rich shady garden with little maintenance. An interesting feature of the plant are the red-brown flowers which are curious-looking, quite small and usually hidden by the foliage yet worth searching for in early spring. No serious insect or disease problems.
