Native
A compact and very floriferous selection of the native white wood aster with attractive dark mahogany stems. 'Eastern Star' blooms heavily both in partial and full dry shade with delicate-looking white and yellow daisy-like flowers in late summer to early fall when the majority of other perennials have finished their show. Foliage is deeply veined, green and heart-shaped through the summer and may develop yellow or red/purple tinged fall color in autumn.

Self seeding plants will not grow true to name. If desired, cutback seed heads in late fall to prevent self-sowing.
