A popular shade loving perennial with green almost fernlike foliage and tall white fluffy plumes of flowers in summer.  Flower stalks are dark green, tinged red and add to the showiness of the flowers. Elegant foliage incorporates somewhat of a formal touch to the woodland garden and looks attractive even when the plants are not in bloom.  Thrives in moist, shady, rich soils and bloom time is early to mid season.
