A beautiful and underused native groundcover with glossy green foliage, dainty white spring flowers, small red berrylike fruit in late summer. Gorgeous red/bronze fall foliage that persists through the winter. Prefers dryer, poor soils and often proves difficult to transplant. 'Massachusetts' is known to be disease tolerant and a flatter growing selection.
