Acer palmatum var. dissectum 'Red Dragon'
Cutleaf Japanese Maple
A stunning small mounding Japanese Maple cultivar lauded for both the color and stability of the burgundy lace-leaf foliage. This foliage opens to a cherry red in spring, matures to a burgundy color in the summer, and changes to an apple red in the autumn. Most notable is the ability of this foliage to hold the burgundy color through the summer. One of the most stable if not the most stable red Cutleaf Japanese Maples. Foliage resembles the claws of a dragon, hence the cultivar name.
