Mounds of aromatic, slightly minty, green foliage are covered with a profusion of sky-blue daisy-like flowers that cover the plant from late summer and into the fall. The blooms are adored by butterflies and pollinators and are a much needed late source of pollen and nectar. They also hold up beautifully in cut flower arrangements. It is a tough plant that can thrive in sandy and clay soils, and is also tolerant of drought, salt, and poor soils. This makes it a great contender for use in meadow and prairie platings, as well as in perennial beds and borders in tougher parts of the landscape.
