A large cool shade tree selected for the deeply lobed dark green leathery leaves that turn a beautiful orange to scarlet in the fall. The thick leaves allow this shade tree to tolerate hotter and drier conditions than most other sugar maples. Usually grown in full sun for best fall color, however this shade tree does tolerate full shade.
