Artemesia schmidtiana 'Silver Mound'
Wormwood
'Silver Mound' has soft, fine-leaved lacy foliage that is a stunning silvery-blue hue. Despite its delicate appearance, it can tolerate a variety of conditions that make it ideal for more difficult parts of the landscape: it is heat and drought tolerant, salt tolerant, deer and rabbit resistant, and generally very low maintanence. It would work very well as a groundcover or edging plant along pathways or roads that may be impacted by salt in the winter, as well as in any beds and borders that may be drier throughout the season. Its color also makes it the perfect backdrop for flowering plants and its cut foliage could be used in flower arrangements. It is also a great contender for use in rock or gravel gardens or tucked into stone walls.
