Asclepias incarnata 'Ice Ballet'
Swamp Milkweed
Plant Type: Native
A beautiful butterfly-attracting native perennial usually found in swamps and wet meadows of the Northeastern United States. This species also adapts very well to drier more average soils allowing a little more diversity for the home gardener. Clusters of white flowers appear atop the tall stems later in summer when many other perennials have concluded their show. Foliage is 4"-5" long, willow-like and green. Butterflies find the flowers extremely attractive and Monarch caterpillars use the leaves as a food source.
