Chelone lyonii 'Hot Lips'
Turtlehead
Plant Type: Native
'Hot Lips' has spires of bright fuchsia snapdragon-like flowers above its dark green foliage that bring a serious pop of color to the shade! It blooms from late summer and into fall, helping to provide a late source of nectar for pollinators. It requires full shade to look its best and also consistently moist to wet soils. It is an excellent choice for rain gardens, bioswales, bog plantings, beds and borders along streambanks or ponds, and woodland gardens, especially when planted in large groupings.
