Chrysanthemum pacificum
Gold and Silver Chrysanthemum
This perennial Chrysanthemum stands out from the others with its showy grey-green leaves that have a thin white stripe that runs along their deeply lobed edges. Its flowers differ too; instead of the classic daisy form, it produces clusters of small, button-like golden yellow flowers that are reminiscent of Ageratum and just as much of a hit with pollinators! It also blooms much later in the fall, around Thanksgiving, extending the season even further. It does well in full to partial sun and well-drained soils. Its foliage makes it worth using in beds and borders and fall themed containers, and its drought tolerance makes it a good contender for use in gravel and rock gardens as well. It would also make an attractive taller groundcover.
