Coreopsis 'Mercury Rising'
Tickseed
Plant Type: Perennial
'Mercury Rising' has profuse red velvet 2" blooms above its clump of green, narrow leaves. It is a hardy plant that can bloom from early summer up until early fall. The blooms resist fading and its drought resistance keeps its foliage appearing fresh as well, making them great for use as cut flowers. This plant prefers full sun but can tolerate partial shade, although it may not bloom as intensely. It also requires dry to medium well drained soils. It is great for use in sunny beds and borders, groupings, cut flower gardens, cottage-style gardens, and meadow/prairie-style plantings.
