Coreopsis 'Red Satin'
Tickseed
Plant Type: Perennial
'Red Satin' produces deep red 1.5" flowers that cover its mound of green threadleaf foliage. It blooms all through the summer, and with mid-season pruning can continue to rebloom until frost. Pollinators and butterflies are fans of the blooms, and they also work very well as cut flowers for arrangements. It requires full sun for the best flowering, although it can tolerate partial shade, and dry to medium moisture well-drained soils. It works well in sunny beds and borders, in groupings, cottage style-gardens, and meadow/prairie style plantings. With its showy blooms it could even be used as a "filler" in mixed summer containers as well.
