Coreopsis grandiflora 'Sunkiss'
Tickseed
Plant Type: Native
'Sunkiss' is covered in large 3" flowers that are golden yellow with burgundy-red centers and held up on wiry green stems above a mound of foliage. It is an easy to grow plant that requires full sun and dry to medium well drained soil. It can tolerate rocky and poor soils and some drought once established. With a little regular deadheading it can bloom from late spring and until early summer, and cutting back in midsummer helps encourage more blooms into the fall. It works well in beds and borders, groupings, pollinator gardens, and cottage style gardens where it can add a sunny splash of color and draw in pollinators and butterflies.
