Gaura lindheimeri 'BELLEZA® Dark Pink'
Gaura
This variety of Gaura has rich dark pink star-shaped flowers that stand out against its green foliage that is highlighted with red. It has an excellent branching habit and shorter stems that keep the plants looking full and not splaying open, also making them ideal for use in cut flower arrangements. It blooms from summer into early fall and the flowers are very attractive to pollinators and butterflies. It requires full sun and moist well-drained soil and once established it can tolerate heat, humidity, and drought. Overall it is very low maintanence plant, although spent stems can be trimmed off to help it keep a tidier appearance. It works very well in groupings in beds and borders where the drifts of flowers can move together in the breeze. It can also be used in containers, rock gardens, and meadow/prairie style plantings.
