Hydrangea quercifolia 'Peewee'
Oakleaf Hydrangea
Plant Type: Native
A compact-growing and refined oakleaf hydrangea with smaller ultimate size, smaller flower panicles, and smaller foliage. Maintains a more controlled width than the species as this selection does not have the strong tendency to sucker. White pyramidal flower panicles emerge in summer and continue through late summer when the flowers will gradually meld into pink. Clean dark green foliage turns to notable orange, maroon, and purple shades in fall. Cinnamon-brown exfoliating bark adds winter interest.
