Sempervivum tectorum 'Red'

Hens & Chicks, Houseleeks

Plant Type: Perennial

An interesting and texturally impressive succulent with tight rosettes of thick green fleshy foliage.  Foliage often takes on red or purple tinges intensifying in full sun and as cooler temps approach.  Older rosettes produce pink flowers in summer on tall 12" pubescent stalks. The older rosettes then die leaving the"chicks" to carry on through the winter. An excellent textural accent for containers, stone walls, and dry perennial borders.
