Strobilanthes dyerianus
Persian Shield
Plant Type: Annual
Persian Shield has purple leaves that are highlighted by dramatic deep green veins. Its leaves have a shiny, lustrous silver sheen that really makes it stand out! It is heat and drought tolerant, although a little protection from direct sun will help keep its leaves from burning at the edges. It is an excellent contender for use in containers and window boxes, but could also provide a unique element in beds and borders. It can also be adapted as a houseplant.
