Tradescantia 'Nanouk'
Tradescantia
'Nanouk' has wide, lance-shaped bright purple leaves that look as though they have been painted with light green and white stripes; it is an absolutely adorable plant! It produces clusters of small white flowers at its tips when temperatures are warmer. It does best in partial shade to keep its leaves from burning and due to its succulent nature it does not require much water. It is a virgorous grower, and even though it has a trailing habit, it can quickly fill out containers with consistent trimming to encourage new growth at the base. Its stripes add a playful color to containers and it looks great in a hanging basket all on its own. It could also be used that the front edges of beds and borders for a fun twist.
